Ricky & Lynnie were married December 18, 2010 in the Nashville, Tennessee Temple. They are so happy together. It is so evident to everyone around them. And they certainly celebrated with style. The couple had an amazing reception that evening, with lots of food, fun, friends and certainly family. It was a crazy bunch, but I loved every minute of it. Never have I been to such a fun reception. They know how to party in Hawaii!! :)

Congratulations to Ricky & Lynnie! I wish you both the absolute best!

Summer days...

I love Rock Island. The cold rain and gray skies have made me long for the summer days spent swimming at Twin Falls and sitting on the rocks with the water beating down on my back. The warm sun on my skin as I lay on a large rock with my eyes closed just listening to the sounds of nature around me; the rushing water, the rustling leaves, the birds flying overhead and the steady falling water.

Matthew & Marissa Wedding Reception

So today I am playing catch-up. I have not updated the blog in a while, my bad!

Well, back in April, Matthew and Marissa were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. In early May they came to Tennessee to have a reception with friends and family here, and while there, I was able to take some photos for them.

Matthew is my cousin, and is a great young man, and Marissa is just too funny! When I met her back in December when they came in for Christmas, and I took some engagement photos, I had a blast! And I was able to get a glimpse into their happiness together, and I wish them the absolute best in everything!

The Band

William won a free photo shoot giveaway on Facebook. He decided that if it was just a shoot of him alone it would be weird, because as he said, guys just don't have photo shoots. lol. So, he decided to get his band involved. So one evening we got together and took some photos of "The Band", and here they are!

Chyanne Soccer 2010

Sports photography has become a favorite of mine. I love going to a game and taking as many shots as I can, all while listening to the family and friends cheer on their little athlete. My latest photographic journey took me to Chyanne's soccer game. My cousin Jessie texted me one day and asked if I could come to her game and get some shots for them. So, I loaded up my camera and headed to the field. And here are a few of the shots from that day...

Gatorade, pom poms, helmets and cleats. Parents yelling, whistles blowing and kids smiling.

Sports are under way! And every parent wants to preserve those memories of their child's first soccer game or their first time at bat. TK Photography is here to help. Growing up, my brother, sister and I all played many sports- from softball and baseball to soccer and basketball. And one thing I have really noticed, parents get very involved in their child's games, and so capturing those moments and preserving the memories is often difficult. They mean well, and have the camera in tow, but within five minutes it is off to the side as the parent screams and shouts for their little one to "kick the ball"! So this is where I come in. I love sports, and I love photography, and I have come to love combining to two. Now I want to extend those services to YOU!

Matthew & Marissa are getting married!!!! And they were so much fun to hang out with today! Matthew is an amazing young man, though he was a little booger growing up! haha! But he is a great guy and the girl to get his heart is a lucky one... and that girl is Marissa! And she rocks! :) I just met her this past weekend at Christmas, and she is so much fun! Her and Matthew are so happy and I wish them both the very best!

Let me just start off by saying that I love these two. I have known Brittany since the 3rd grade. We lived across the street from each other and were the best of friends. Will, on the other hand, I only met last July when I went to take Engagement photos, but he is one that you just can't help but like. They are both amazing!

I am so very happy for them and I wish them the absolute best!

Love- a wildly misunderstood although highly desirable malfunction of the heart which weakens the brain, causes eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise, and the lips to pucker.

Congratulations to these two and their upcoming marriage. The Tennessee humidity is not always fun when it comes to photo shoots, but they toughed it out, and we were able to get some adorable shots. Can't wait for the wedding! (Although I'm not sure Dan entirely knows what he is getting into with our family!) :)

Amanda is one of my dearest friends, and is an amazing mother to her 3 year-old daughter, Rylan. These two are simply beautiful, and it was my pleasure to photograph them. It was a birthday present from Amanda, whose birthday was at the end of March, but we have both been busy or the weather has not cooperated, until this day. It was a beautiful day, a little on the warm side, but they toughed it out, and proved to be very photogenic. I love them both!

Rylan Madison

Rylan is a doll. Back at Christmas we had a girls' night Christmas party and a silly gift exchange. Well, lucky me received a Gabriella wig! Yep, that same Gabriella that loves Troy (High School Musical). And that is exactly what the headband says in bright red, I love Troy! Well Amanda and Rylan came over one night and we just had to try it on her, and this is the result. A truly adorable little girl, who managed to end up in the bathroom playing with my make-up... At least it made for some cute photos!

I have been having problems with my Internet, and blogger, not wanting me to upload photos... but after an hour of trying, I was finally able to upload one photo. So here is a very brief preview of what is to come... Keep checking back for updates, because I have many new photos to come!

Here is a preview of Amanda and her daughter Rylan. It was a beautiful day to celebrate a 3rd birthday! They are both beautiful girls, so it was a great day! Can't wait to post the rest!

Finally, more photos to share... These photos are from Thanksgiving Day. My beautiful cousin had a blast playing with my adorable nephew, so I have a few photos to share of them. And really, on this photo of Emily, I can't take all the credit.. Jax wanted to take a picture with my camera, so I held the camera as he looked through the viewfinder and I asked, "Can you see Emily through it?" The reply came, "Yes." To which I responded by putting his finger on the shutter button and told him to go for it.. and this was the result, a beautiful photo of my beautiful cousin!

WCMS Cheerleaders

This is a sneek peak at some photos I was able to take of the Warren County Middle School Cheerleading Squad. This was a first for me. I had never taken any group photos, but I had a lot of fun with these girls, especially at the end when they were just hanging out with their friends and having fun and just being themselves, without the poses and the "ok, smile on 3...". I hope they are happy with the way they turned out, and I will admit that the group shots, I like a lot better than the individuals, but the collective smiles in these group shots just make them that much better. More smiles, more fun!

These girls were waiting on the rest of them to change out of their uniforms, and were just goofing off and having some fun! In thise one, they were about the fall right as I snapped it!

Amanda & Bryan

Amanda and Bryan were married October 25 at the Fillauer Lake House in Cleveland, TN. I had not met neither the Bride nor Groom until the day of their wedding, but they were a lot of fun to be around, and were very welcoming of me, a stranger, there to photograph their wedding. The colors were absolutely beautiful and the weather was perfect for an outdoor fall ceremony. I wish them the absolute best, and thank them for letting me be a part of their special day!

Trying to get a two year old and a three year old to sit still and take photos is not the easiest thing to do... Instead, they want to show off for those watching or just cringe when the camera flashes, not wanting to smile for it. BUT... here are a few of the photos I managed to take of Jaxon and Camdyn. They were not very cooperative... I think deep down they knew that flu shots followed...

I have the most adorable nephew, and I am one proud Aunt. Turns out, that Jax is destined to be not only a star athlete, but a natural model! haha. I asked him if I could take some photos of him today, and he was a little hesitant, but finally said, "After lunch." So, "after lunch" we went outside and the fun began. And, I am getting a new phone soon so I told him he could have my old one to play with when I got it, but of course he didn't want to wait... He is going to break so many hearts one day!

The Knowles Family

I attended a Smith Family Reunion at the end of August, and I told my cousin, Jessie, that I would like to photograph her kids. It was a wet Sunday afternoon, but we braved it and went out and took some pictures. These kids really are adorable, and I had fun taking their pictures. Ethan Jase is the youngest and the most curious of the bunch. Then there is Mason with his "I don't want to smile". (but he did!) And then last, but most certainly not least, was little Miss Chyenne with all the attitude in the world!

These are some of my favorite pieces of "art" that I have created. Part of it may be because they are of my nephew, but it is more than that. It is the fact that I created something that is cherished by so many (my family) and something that will be cherished always. How many two year olds have such a natural talent? This is what made this so easy. These photos came from an evening spent in my front yard. Halloween day 2007 to be exact. My nephew just had to come show us his football costume, and, of course, had to practice tackling his papa in the yard...as well as anyone else brave enough to take him on! Some people have commented asking me how I was able to get him to pose like this, but I cannot take any of the credit. It was all Jax King. He is just a natural athlete, and I happened to be at the right place at the right time, with my camera in tow. And with it being football time here in Tennessee (Go Vols!!) I just had to share these photos again...

This first one is really two photos of Jax. Many thought I just pasted him in front of a UT helmet, but that is him wearing the helmet. It is two pictures I merged together.

This one is just a collage of some of my favorites from that day. He really is a natural athlete. You can see it in the way he stands, runs, kneels, throws, everything. I have a feeling that one day he just might be putting on that orange and white jersey and hitting the field!

Pepper Branch Park

I took my little sister, Lyndsey, and one of my best friends, Allie, down to Pepper Branch Park and made them let me take pictures of them. Most of the poses are just natural poses. I would rather someone be comfortable and look natural than all stiff. So here is the first round of pictures from that beautiful, but ridiculously HOT day.

I have finally decided to set up a blog that is really ALL photography. I have decided to stop standing still and just go for it and move forward. I love photography, and in order to further develop my talent and love for it, I must take action, and that is what I am here to do!

Here is a little bit about myself...

My name is Tabitha King and photography is my passion. There is nothing like freezing a moment in time. I work alone, and don't have some creative concept behind my name- it's just me, just plain ole Tab, with a love for the beauty of a photograph.

Being able to freeze that one moment... I love to capture the everyday aspects of life and love candid shots and real emotion. Don't get me wrong, posed shots look great too, but capturing life as it happens is the magic of photography.

I love taking pictures of anyone and anything, my nephew being my favorite! I play around with my camera all the time, and drive those closest to me crazy with it. It is like an extra appendage. I take pictures because I love to. I hope to one day make it a career, and am learning more and more every day.

My pictures tend to have a classic look, but at the same time I love capturing the unexpected, focusing on something that others may not notice. I work hard to make my photographs look their best, and never half-do a job. I love experimenting with colors and tones, so I spend a lot of time editing to make your portraits look their absolute best. I want to work along side those I photograph to make sure I work to make their photos look the way they see them, to make the photos their treasured keepsake, and to make them love the photos as much as I do.
